What should do if I want my criminal record expunged?
Expungement is a process in which your criminal record is erased from public record. There are many reasons you might want an expungement. Maybe you are trying to get a new job or want to purchase a firearm. Maybe you are applying to college. Oftentimes, having a criminal record can prevent you from doing these things. An expungement can give you a clean slate. Only certain crimes are eligible for expungement. Here’s what you need to do:
1. Pay all of your court fees. If you owe any money to the court, it must be paid in full before you can get an expungement.
